ABOUT ME
Laura Malandrino Therapy Hermosa Beach

Hello, I’m Laura.

If you’re here, chances are you’re looking for someone to walk with you through the uncertainty, to help you face the hard truths, and to create a space where you can explore your true self—without judgment or rush. That’s exactly what I aim to offer.

I specialize in Depth Psychotherapy, a process that helps us explore those deeper layers of the psyche—the ones that often go unnoticed but influence how we interact with the world. It’s not always easy, but it’s a profound path to personal transformation and lasting change.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent years working in social research and consumer behavior analysis, studying how and why people make decisions. This work has given me a keen understanding of human motivations and social influences, which I bring into my therapy practice. Whether it's unpacking family dynamics or understanding how societal pressures shape us, I’m equipped to help you explore the full picture of who you are and how you relate to the world.

Alongside my research background, my creative work in photography has shaped how I view human connection. I’ve seen how our stories are told through expression, and how often, healing comes from finding the right words—or even the right image—that resonates with our deeper selves.

Therapy isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about exploring what’s been hidden, challenging the things that have held you back, and giving yourself the space to heal. My job is to support you in that process—whether it’s uncovering old patterns, building resilience, or simply learning to trust yourself again.

If you’re ready to begin, I’m here to help guide and support you as you move toward growth and transformation. If you’re curious about how I work, reach out—I look forward to connecting with you.

MY APPROACH

Therapy for Overthinkers, Professionals, and High-Functioning Individuals Navigating Life Transitions.

My approach to therapy is shaped by personal growth, clinical experience, and a deep belief in our capacity to heal and thrive. I work with high-functioning individuals — including professionals, deep thinkers, and highly sensitive people — who may appear to have it all together on the outside, yet feel stuck, overwhelmed, or emotionally disconnected on the inside.

In my practice, I offer therapy for overthinkers, those struggling with low self-worth, and individuals navigating life transitions such as career shifts, relationship changes, parenting, and menopause. I support people dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges — helping them move beyond coping and into meaningful, lasting change.

EMDR and Trauma-Informed Therapy

When working with trauma, I integrate EMDR  (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help you process painful memories and release patterns that no longer serve you. EMDR is especially effective for individuals who feel stuck in cycles of overanalysis, emotional numbness, or who carry unresolved experiences that traditional talk therapy hasn’t fully addressed.

An Integrative, Depth-Oriented Approach

I use an integrative, trauma-informed perspective that draws from Psychodynamic Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relational Psychotherapy, and Existential Therapy. This means we’ll explore how your early relationships, beliefs, and life experiences shape the way you relate to yourself and others today.

Together, we’ll use mindfulness and nervous system regulation tools to develop awareness in the present moment, while also addressing deeper unconscious patterns and beliefs. Whether you’re dealing with chronic self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, or a sense of disconnection from your purpose, our work will be both insight-oriented and practical.

For Those Seeking More Than Just Symptom Relief

Therapy with me is not just about managing anxiety or reducing symptoms—it’s about reclaiming your inner voice, building emotional resilience, and living a life aligned with your values. I hold space for deep exploration, while offering grounded support as you make empowered choices and step into new ways of being.

If you're ready to stop looping in your thoughts, heal from the past, and build a more authentic, fulfilling life, I'm here to walk that path with you.
