Connection isn’t a fixed trait. It’s built, and it can be rebuilt.
Some couples come to build. They’re moving toward marriage, a shared decision, or a new chapter, and they want to start on solid ground.
Others come to repair. They keep landing in the same argument, or they’ve drifted apart, and they want to find their way back to each other.
Either way, the problem is rarely the surface fight. It’s the disconnection underneath it, the sense of not being heard, chosen, or safe with the person who matters most.
The good news is that it’s workable. What you’ve built before can be built again, and what you’re building now can be built well.
What therapy helps with
The same argument on repeat, about logistics, parenting, or money, without ever reaching resolution
Feeling like roommates, running the household like efficient business partners while the closeness, laughter, and spark quietly fade
Conversations that spiral into defensiveness, criticism, eye-rolling, or shutting down completely
Resentment from keeping a private tally, feeling unappreciated, or carrying more than your share of the mental load
Rebuilding trust after an affair, a broken boundary, or a hidden financial decision
Walking on eggshells to avoid conflict, until the relationship feels polite but not close
Busy lives with demanding careers, travel, and packed schedules that leave little time for each other
Here's how we get there
We draw from research-backed clinical frameworks tailored to your relationship dynamics—moving beyond surface venting to repair communication and rebuild trust.

Therapy for Relationship & Marriage Tension
-
Yes. Premarital work is most useful when things are calm, not when tensions are high. Unspoken assumptions about money, career sacrifices, in-laws, or how fast you want life to move can quietly build into friction years later. Talking them through now means you start your marriage knowing where you each stand.

That’s expected, and it’s useful. We don’t avoid conflict, we slow it down. When a familiar trigger comes up, I’ll step in before the usual reaction takes over, whether that’s defending, firing back, or shutting down. We look at what’s happening in your body and what you’re protecting in that moment. Practicing this in session helps you catch the cycle at home on your own.

Yes, often. Hesitation is normal, especially if one of you expects to be blamed, labeled, or ganged up on. My role isn’t to referee or decide who’s right. We focus on the push-pull pattern that keeps you both stuck. Once you can both see that the problem is the pattern, not either person, it gets easier to stop defending and start talking.

Our work draws on the Gottman Method, with clear, practical tools. We map the pattern behind the fights that keep coming back, and work directly on the topics where you feel stuck, using specific ways to repair after conflict. We also track what’s changing: calming down faster, talking clearly when stress is high, and rebuilding closeness, both emotional and physical.
