Frequently Asked Questions
It's normal to have questions before starting therapy. Here are answers to the ones I hear most.
-
Depth psychotherapy isn't about quick fixes. It looks beneath your thoughts, feelings, and patterns, especially the ones that keep repeating. It asks not just "What are you feeling?" but "Where did this begin?"
Together we might explore your early relationships, recurring patterns, or the things you've never said out loud, not to stay stuck in the past, but to understand how it shaped you. The work is slow, reflective, and personal, and it gives you space to become more fully yourself.
Over time, you move from reacting to understanding, so your choices become conscious rather than automatic. If you've ever felt there's more going on beneath the surface, you're probably right. This is a safe, gentle way to explore it.

It's not advice-giving. It's helping you hear your own truth.
It's not instant. It's a long-term investment in your self-awareness.
It's not always talking. It's feeling, sensing, remembering.
It's not about "fixing" you. It's about understanding why you are the way you are.

Therapy can help with anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma, life transitions, and personal growth. If you're not sure it's right for you, a free consultation is a good place to start. We can talk through what's on your mind and see if we're a good fit.
-
No, as a therapist I don't prescribe medication. If it might help, we can talk it through, and with your consent, I can coordinate with your physician or psychiatrist.
-
How therapy works. How sessions run, confidentiality, and any questions about consent, fees, or scheduling.
What brought you in. What's going on and what matters most to you.
Your story. A broad look at your life: family, relationships, past experiences, stress, and medical history where it's relevant.
Where things stand. How you're feeling now, so we can shape the work around you.

I'm an out-of-network provider, so while I don't bill insurance directly, your plan may cover part of the cost. I'll give you a “superbill” to submit for reimbursement — check with your insurer about their out-of-network psychotherapy rate.

If you need to cancel, please let me know at least 48 hours before your session by text, call, or email. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice are charged as a full session.

The duration of therapy varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some clients benefit from short-term therapy focused on a specific concern, while others engage in longer-term work to explore deeper issues and create lasting change. Some choose to continue with maintenance and ongoing support beyond treatment.

Confidentiality is a fundamental part of therapy. As your therapist, I'm legally and ethically bound to protect your privacy, except in the rare situations where there's a risk of harm to you or someone else. Your privacy matters, and I'll always be clear with you about those limits.
